the honest truth
Sargassum is a naturally occurring seaweed that drifts through the Caribbean during the warmer months, with conditions varying daily based on winds, currents, and weather. While our team works hard to keep the beach comfortable, nature ultimately sets the rhythm.
Europe is crowded.
The Hamptons are full of traffic.
Tulum is free of crowds, at a great rate and a short flight.
Yoga, movement, nourishment. Everything is taken care of. All you have to do is show up. A tune-up for the mind, body & spirit.

The package is designed for families with children aged 5 and older. Spanish classes and fitness sessions are adapted for younger children. The cenote tour is recommended for confident swimmers aged 6 and up — life vests are always available. The Mayan Ruins tour is suitable for all ages.
Classes are structured by level so beginners, intermediate and advanced speakers are grouped separately. Children and adults can be in the same group or different groups depending on ages and levels.
When sargassum is present on the beach, our cenote on property provides a beautiful, clean freshwater alternative for swimming. We are always transparent about beach conditions and have a plan B.

The Gran Cenote is approximately 15 minutes by car from Amansala. Transportation is arranged as part of the excursion. We recommend early morning visits when the light is most spectacular and crowds are minimal.

four good reasons
50% off all rooms. Same beachfront paradise — at rates that make you want to stay for a month.
The beach is yours. The cenotes are quiet. The jungle feels like it belongs to you.
Summer rain turns Tulum impossibly green. The cenotes fill, the jungle breathes, the air smells like earth and ocean.
Starry skies, warm air, the sound of the sea — and sea turtles nesting on the beach right outside your door. One of nature's most ancient rituals, all summer long.

our story
Amansala was founded in 2004 by Melissa Perlman on a stretch of beachfront that most people hadn’t heard of yet. Twenty years later, we’re still here. Same beach. Same belief that transformation doesn’t require a spa menu that reads like a pharma catalog.
